Connecting your RMM to HighGround

1.0 - Introduction

By connecting your RMM tool to HighGround, you’ll seamlessly import your devices and network devices into our Assets module. This integration allows you to easily manage and track all your assets in one place, ensuring better visibility and control. With your devices automatically synced, you can streamline asset management and focus on providing efficient, proactive support for your clients.

2.0 - How we use your RMM data

When you sync your RMM with HighGround, your data doesn’t just sit idle—it springs into action! You’ll see it pop up in various sections across HighGround, each one designed to save you valuable time and streamline your workflow.

HighGround leverages your RMM data to power a range of useful features, including:

Assets: All the assets currently in your RMM are automatically pulled into HighGround and neatly organized in the Assets section. This includes detailed information about each asset, whether it’s a server, workstation, laptop, or network device. Now, managing your assets is as easy as clicking a button.

Security Packages: Need to price your client’s security packages faster? HighGround makes it simple. By syncing with your RMM, you can quickly access a client’s assets with a click of the 'Get Assets' button, giving you all the key details you need to tailor the right security package.

Client Report: When you run a client report, you can include asset details—especially issues related to them. This means you can provide comprehensive, actionable insights for your clients, all within the same report. To learn more, read our How to create a client report article.

Device Issues: HighGround performs several checks on assets to identify any devices with:

  • Expired Warranty's

  • End of Life

  • Age

  • Performance Issues (coming soon)

With HighGround and your RMM working together, you'll spend less time hunting down information and more time focusing on what matters most: delivering exceptional service to your clients.

Note: we also perform User Issue checks when you integrate Microsoft Lighthouse - specially looking for users with MFA disabled or Risky Sign Ins / Risk Detections.

3.0- How to connect your RMM

We have written articles and guides on each RMM and how to connect them to your HighGround account - you can find them listed below.

4.0 - Map your data

Importing your RMM data is quick and simple:

  1. Navigate to Integrations > <find your integration> > Connect

  2. Enter API Details and click 'Connect'

  3. The API Connection will be tested. If successful, you will be auto-redirected to the Client Mapping screen

  4. Select an action for each client. Options include:

    • Select an existing client (e.g. you already created them manually, or imported them from another integration)

    • Selecting Import "company name" at the bottom of the modal to import the company with the same name as it's named in the RMM

    • If you want to import the client, but with a different name than what they are named in your RMM, enter the company name in the 'search' box, and click the blue text at the bottom of the modal Import "search criteria".

      Tip: You can get extended details about a company from your RMM by hovering over the company row and clicking 'Details'.

  5. Click Sync to begin the import of your clients data from your RMM.

This process can take up to 6 hours for particularly large datasets. If you are not seeing your data and/or have not received an email after 8 hours then something has likely gone wrong and you will need to contact our support team for help on [email protected].

Warning: If the sync fails, you will also receive a sync failed email and you will likely have to contact our support team for help.

5.0 - Updating and Remapping your RMM data

You can update your RMM mapping at any time by opening the integration, updating your mapping and clicking Sync. This will perform a remap of your data and can take several hours to complete.

Note: Automatically import new companies: If any new company is detected in your RMM, they will be automatically created in HighGround.
