When connecting your PSA to HighGround, you’ll notice a few ‘Import by’ options available for mapping your products. These options determine how your products make their grand entrance into your HighGround account. You can choose to import by:

Using AI
We’ve introduced Product Exceptions to give you an extra layer of control over how your products are imported and mapped in HighGround. Think of it as your manual override button — perfect for those moments when:
The AI’s decision isn’t quite what you expected, or
Category-based mapping doesn’t line up neatly with how you want your data structured.
With Product Exceptions, you can fine-tune mappings to make sure everything lands exactly where it should. In short, it’s the balance between smart automation and your own expert judgement — giving you the best of both worlds.
2.0 - Creating an exception
Exceptions can be made directly from the Product Mapping page — no need to jump through multiple menus. You can create an exception for any product in your PSA that’s been imported into HighGround.
Here’s how to do it:
Step 1: Click ‘Add Exception’.
Step 2: From the drop-down list, select the product you want to create an exception for.
Step 3: Choose the category and subcategory you’d like this product to live in.
Step 4: Hit ‘Add’ — and that’s it. Your changes will be applied automatically.
Once you’ve created an exception, HighGround will immediately update the mapping. No matter where that product used to sit, it’ll now appear in the category you’ve chosen.
Distribute Spend
You’ll also notice a ‘Distribute Spend’ toggle in the Exceptions modal. This handy option lets you spread a product’s spend across multiple categories — perfect for those products that straddle more than one area of your business.
When enabled, the product’s spend will be distributed across the selected categories automatically.
