1.0 - Introduction

Look, we know the Technology Dashboard is already a thing of beauty—sleek, intuitive, practically radiating usability. But even the best dashboards can get cluttered, and nobody wants to sift through ancient data from the before times (aka last quarter). That’s where filters come in to save the day!

Need to zero in on only the most relevant spend? Want to find that one sneaky line item that’s burning a hole in your budget? Or maybe you just like feeling powerful as you bend data to your will? Whatever the case, HighGround’s filter options have got you covered. Keep reading to unlock their full potential!

2.0 - Filter by Date

We get it—you’ve got better things to do than play Where’s Waldo: The IT Budget Edition. Sometimes, you just need to find that one payment from that one day without sifting through a mountain of transactions. That’s why HighGround has your back with a handy-dandy date range filter right in the main view of your Technology Spend.

With this, you can easily check how much you’ve been shelling out over specific time periods. Need to see your spending for the current year? No problem. The previous year? Easy. Last 12 months? Done. We’ve even thrown in a few more predefined ranges for good measure. But if you’re the type who likes precision (or just wants to confirm that yes, that vendor really did bill you twice last March), you can set your own custom date range too.

Want to zoom in on a specific time period and make your financial chaos look a little less… chaotic? Here’s how to do it:

1️⃣ Click the filter icon – It’s hanging out right next to the search bar, waiting for its moment to shine.

2️⃣ Select "Filter by Date" – Because you don’t need to see every transaction since the dawn of time.

3️⃣ Pick your time period – Current year? Last 12 months? The dark ages of IT spending? Choose wisely.

4️⃣ Voilà! – Your dashboard now only shows spend within your selected date range. Less noise, more insights.

Now, go forth and filter like the IT wizard you are! 🧙‍♂️✨

3.0 - Filter by Amount or Category

So, you’re deep in a category, hunting for that one transaction, and it’s playing an excellent game of hide and seek. Don’t sweat it—HighGround’s got extra filter options to help you track it down like an IT detective on a mission. 🕵️‍♂️🔍

Here’s what you can filter by:

Amount: Hunting for payments that match (or fall within) a specific amount? Whether it's a tiny expense or a big-budget spend, this filter’s got you covered.

Subcategory: If you know the general area where your payment is hiding, filtering by subcategory will help you pinpoint it faster. Less scrolling, more finding.

💡Stack Your Filters! Why stop at just one? You can combine filters like a pro. Need to find that £1000 payment from March? No problem—set your date range to March, then filter by amount. Boom. Your missing transaction, found in seconds.

4.0 - Using Tax Filters

Ever wonder why the numbers in your Technology Spend overview don’t quite match up with what you actually paid? Don’t worry, no one’s messing with your budget (well… hopefully).

By default, HighGround excludes tax from your spend totals, since business usually works on ex. tax figures. But if you’d rather see the full, tax-included reality of your spending, here’s how to make it happen:

1️⃣ Click the three dots – You’ll find them chilling right next to the blue ‘Add’ button.

2️⃣ Select ‘Taxes’

3️⃣ Choose to include taxes – Boom. Now your overview reflects the full, tax-inclusive amount. No more mental math.

Whether you like to see the pre-tax fantasy or the tax-included reality, the choice is yours. Either way, HighGround makes sure you’re always in the loop (and not caught off guard when the invoices roll in).
